Young and CourageousAmerican Girls Who Made History eBook Marilyn W Seguin Adolph Caso

This collection of stories about courageous girls who made history is intended to entertain and educate readers about American history. Although these stories are presented as historical fiction, the people and events were real. Some were famous and others not so well known. Hopefully, these small stories also offer role models to readers who are similar in age and gender, and perhaps, circumstances, so that they too are inspired to one day make a difference in their world. It takes a lot of courage to change things.
Young and CourageousAmerican Girls Who Made History eBook Marilyn W Seguin Adolph Caso
In Young and Courageous: American Girls Who Made History, Marilyn Seguin engages us with five stories of seven young women who showed extraordinary courage and wisdom during various adverse conditions of the 19th century. What's best about this young adult book is Seguin's attention to detail and the history itself. She has a way of making these girls come to life so you feel like you're right there with them. Some of the girls--Belle Boyd and Sacagawea--are well known, while others are lesser known or unknown. My favorite is Minnie Freeman, a teacher in Nebraska, who took a huge risk during the 1888 surprise blizzard to save the lives of the school children in her charge. Regardless of my favorite, the book will be enjoyable for both young and adult readers.Product details
